Appointment with the Wise Old Dog is the personal story of David Blum, an internationally known symphony orchestra conductor, composer, and musical scholar who wrote extensively about classical music—his natural gift. Yet another path began to capture his attention: the world of dreams. Over more than thirty years, he recorded and illustrated 1,660 dreams, rendering the images in oil crayons. When diagnosed with cancer, he experienced six years in remission before passing away at age 62. During that time, his dream images intensified, and his attention to them deepened, equipping him to embody their messages. This led David to create a DVD sharing his hope that others might discover their own inner images to face times of crisis. For David, death became the capstone of individuation.
