In this workshop, we will explore the mythological descents of Persephone, Orpheus, and Psyche, uncovering the psychological themes and archetypal insights embedded in their stories. Each of these figures is drawn down into the underworld, whether by abduction, by grief, or by an impossible task, and each returns changed. Read symbolically, these are not tales of distant gods and heroes but images of a passage the psyche itself must sometimes make, when loss, longing, or necessity pulls us beneath the surface of ordinary life.
By viewing the underworld as a symbol of the unconscious, we examine how their experiences reveal pathways to our own psychic depths and the key resources needed for the journey.
