About the event

Friday, January 16, 2026 from 7 to 9 PM EST

For this free film night, we will screen Dr. Sharon Blackie’s presentation on Cultivating the Mythic Imagination — a rich and inspiring exploration of how myth, story, and the imagination shape our experience of the world and our place within it. In this talk, Blackie invites us to consider imagination not as escapism but as a living faculty that connects us with the land, with community, and with the deeper narratives that guide human life. Drawing on her work in psychology, mythopoetic storytelling, and ecological thinking, she offers reflections on how engaging with mythic images and landscapes can help re-enchant our experience of everyday life, foster a deeper sense of belonging, and support a more responsive relationship with the natural world.

This event will include a screening of the talk and time afterward for community discussion and reflection, offering space…
