This experiential workshop introduces hypnosis as a practical method for accessing the unconscious and engaging directly with symbolic material. Drawing on Jung's concept of the imaginal realm, participants will learn how trance states can deepen their connection to inner imagery and personal archetypes. Far from the theatrical caricature many of us carry, hypnosis here is understood as a natural and focused state of attention, one that quiets the surface chatter of the mind and allows deeper material to rise into view. In this relaxed and receptive condition, the symbols and figures of the inner world can be met more vividly and directly than ordinary waking consciousness usually permits.
Through guided exercises, participants will explore how hypnosis can support active imagination, Jung's practice of entering into dialogue with the images that arise from the unconscious. The emphasis throughout is on…
